Eddie Pena - Class Of 1955

Eddie P. Pena, age 78, of Fort Sumner, New Mexico passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM.

A rosary will be recited at 6pm Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from the church at 10am Saturday, April 11, 2015. Burial with full military honors by Cannon Air Force Honor Guard will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Visitation hours will be Friday from 11am to 5pm at the funeral home.

Eddie Pete Pena was born October 18, 1936 in Fort Sumner, NM to the home of Joe and Clara (Bustos) Pena. He grew up in Fort Sumner, and attended Fort Sumner Schools.

Eddie married Virginia D. Casaus on December 29, 1958 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Eddie served in the U.S. Army and the New Mexico National Guard for over 37 years. He and his father owned and operated Pena Automotive in Fort Sumner for many years. Eddie was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, he was a Knight of Columbus, Council 8331, and the American Legion. His past times include sports, especially boxing, watching western movies, and reading.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Clara Pena.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Pena of Fort Sumner, four sons Gary Pena and his wife Dana, Michael Pena, Joseph Pena and his wife Dahab, all of Albuquerque and Robert Pena of Estancia, NM, one daughter Julie Ford and her husband Joe of Clovis, NM. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three brothers Joe Pena Jr. and his wife Rose Ann of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Henry Pena of Lancaster, CA, Fred Pena and his wife Pat of York, PA, and a sister Irene Kesler of Hilbert, Wisconson along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
