Memorial Graveside Services: 11 am Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 Fort Sumner Cemetery, Fort Sumner, NM

Cathren Ann Kennedy, 60, of Abilene, Texas passed away Friday September 17th in Abilene, Texas.

Cathren was born in Fort Sumner, New Mexico to William and Jacqueline Carr on May 15, 1950. She obtained her bachelors degree from Lyndenwood College in St. Louis, Missouri. She later earned her masters degree from Hardin Simmons University. She was employed as a Licensed Professional Counselor at the time of her death and previously as a social worker for Child Protective Services for over 30 years.

Cathren is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and son William Carr Gamble.

Cathren is survived by her son Chase Gamble, his wife Shanna, and her three grandchildren Jake, Marley, and Grayson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday September 21st, at Heavenly Rest Episcopal Church in Abilene, TX with the reverend Luke Back officiating. After the service all attendees are invited back to the home of Chase and Shanna Gamble for a reception. Graveside Services will be at the Fort Sumner Cemetery, Fort Sumner, New Mexico at 11:00 am, Thursday September 23rd with Mrs. Mary McClain officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Horizons Child Placing center of Abilene, Texas.
