What a shock to open e-mails today and read about the passing of Jane!  Jane was a very dear friend to me all through high school.  I spent many nights at the Reeves home and was always treated like one of the family by Jane, Pat and Elva Nelle.  It is times like this that I wish I had made more of an effort to stay in touch with old and dear friends.  I love you Jane - may you rest in peace!!!

This is such sad news. Pat and Jane were like little sisters to me. We shared many Christmas Eves with them and other great times.  My younger daughter is named after Jane. Heaven has a new bright light. Love and prayers to all. Mary Ann Fallon West

As a Fort Sumner High School's "Miss Betty Crocker of the Year", Jane's creative talent carried through the years.  She was dubbed the family's "Martha Stewart"-the talented cook, interior decorator, gardener, and elegant, charming hostess.  Jane was a beautiful lady inside and out with a great sense of humor.  Her love, charm, and spirit bonded with all she met, producing friendships and often a "best friend" feeling.  Our prayers and thanks go to God for allowing us to know this amazing woman.

She was preceded in death by her dad.  Survivors include her husband Michael T. Ramsey, her mother, Elva Nelle Rankin, both of Abilene; her sister and husband, Pat and Mike Tuohy of Kennewick Washington; stepdaughters Mary Ramsey Paxton and Jeanne Ramsey Farquharson, Abilene; two nephews and families; Mike and Elizabeth, Kate and Ryan Tuohy of Issaqua Washington, and Chris and Kari, Jacob and Megan Tuohy of Sammamish Washington.

Jane may be gone from this physical world but she will not be gone from those who knew her as long as we are alive.  The memories I have of Jane from elementary school until the last time I saw her will live and be a part of my life forever.  The crushes in grade school, double dating with she and Gerry in high school, to UNM are a part of me that will always be there.  Jane rest in peace and we'll see you at some point in time.

What a beautiful and special girl and lady she was and will be remembered by those of us who who grew up knowing and loving her. As a younger student, I will always remember seeing her and her classmates in the hall and wanting to be just like them, she was such a standout at FSHS.

Recentlly keeping in touch with her by email was such a blessing.
Paul and his family were very close to she and her family. He has so many special memories of thier growing up years.

We send our love & prayers, to Mike & family, Elva Nelle and Pat & family.
May God bless each of you and watch over Janie in heaven until you meet again.

THE INFORMATION POSTED BELOW WAS SENT BY YOLANDA HARALSON CLINE.

In 1963 my Mom, Evelyn Turpen Haralson Morgan, bought the Reeves house that was down the block from the Howe's, & between Mrs. Allen's & Otis Rogers's parents home.  Mr. Rogers was our grade school principal.  In the south end of Pat & Jane's bedroom were two built in chests, two vanity/desks with a small three drawer chest between.  And there were bookcases on the wall, in the corners above chests.  My Mom's cousin was a carpenter so he took out the chests for our use, that my two youngest grandsons are still using today.  He made a vanity/desk from the three drawer chest & one vanity that I used growing up, both of my daughters used it & it is waiting in the garage for my oldest daughter to take to her home.  The bookcases are still in use too.

I remember Pat & Jane being cheerleaders, so pretty & so much what a little girl wants to be when she grows up.  Wonderful good memories from my grade school years.  The furniture was all the more special because it had belonged to the Reeves Girls.  My Children know the Reeves Girls were special to my life & theirs.
