SHIRLEY MARTIN (POWELL)
SHIRLEY MARTIN WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 18, 1942 AND PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23RD, 2000, AT TRIGG MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN TUCUMCARI, NEW MEXICO. SHE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF TUCUMCARI FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS. FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS SHE HAD BEEN EMPLOYED AS A WAITRESS. SHE ATTENDED THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF TUCUMCARI. SURVIVING SHIRLEY ANN POWELL IS HER HUSBAND GAILAND POWELL OF TUCUMCARI, THREE BROTHERS; BOB MARTIN OF CLOVIS, NM, BURELL MARTIN OF ARTESIA, NM, AND NOEL MARTIN OF FORT SUMNER, NM.

If I had not come to this site I would not know that Shirley is no longer with us. She was my neighbor and we spent many great evenings walking around our neighborhood and sitting on the wall that surrounded her home. She was really a great gal.Nancy Salazar (Zamora) (1962)
Thank you for the update and photos of Shirley. Like I posted earlier, she was my neighbor and friend and we spent evenings walking around the neighborhood in late 1950's.
